Workers Wiped Out

WORKERS WIPED OUT (FOREVER?)

UNEMPLOYED AND NO JOBS

NO JOB—NO MONEY—NO DIGNITY

There Are Politicians That Call These Men And Women Lazy

Tell that to the coal miners who are being laid off by the thousands. Tell that to the multitude of steel workers who watch their jobs disappear. Tell that to the men and women who see their factories move to low-wage countries.

The problem for thousands of these forcibly, unemployed men and women is that after months and in some cases, years, of fruitless training and job searches there are no jobs for them. Let’s face it; a 50-year-old former coal miner may face an impossible task learning to be computer competent in a new tech job.

They Give-up And Drop Out

Those that give-up their job searches, out of frustration, often find themselves listed in a new, unofficial category...INVISIBLE. They are no longer listed among the unemployed. They become invisible to government statisticians. Their cries for help are no longer heard or listened too. Worse of all are the politicians who call them lazy and will do little or nothing to help them.

“Another 640,000 Drop Out of the Labor Force Causing Unemployment Rate Decline"

Submitted by Robert Oak on July 2, 2015 - 4:13pm

"The June employment report brings some OMG, jaw dropping, are you kidding me numbers.  Over 640,000 dropped out of the labor force.  As a result, the unemployment rate declined two tenths of a percentage point to 5.3%.  The labor participation rate dropped by -0.3 percentage points to 62.6%.  This new low of a labor participation rate has not seen since October 1977 when women and minorities were still were not in the workforce extensively.  While the United States does have baby boomers entering retirement, these figures are horrific.”

Since People Are Counting For Less And Less, How About...

A FEW WORDS REGARDING ROBOTS

It’s true that robots are being used more and more in manufacturing, displacing people, particularly in the automobile industry. It is also true that companies, both in manufacturing and service industries, are looking to replace workers with more and more robots. (Click: Bob Flicker’s: THE REPLACEMENT). However, after replacing people with robots, there is a growing realization in the business and real estate communities that robots are not shoppers or rent payers.
