TRUTH or CONSEQUENCES
There was the radio version (1940-1957)
There was the television version (1950-1988)
And now--
There is the 2015 political version (Game Show Host: Donald Trump)

HOW IT WORKED
and
STILL DOES
Game play (Looking Stupid)*
On the show, contestants received roughly two seconds to answer a trivia question correctly (usually an off-the-wall question that no one would be able to answer correctly, or a bad joke) before "Beulah the Buzzer" sounded. If the contestant could not complete the "Truth" portion, there would be "Consequences," usually a zany and embarrassing stunt. From the start, most contestants preferred to answer the question wrong in order to perform the zany and embarrassing stunt. **
TRUMP SUPPORTERS
Are most of the Trump Supporters the new Truth or Consequences (contestants) supporters. In this case, letting Donald Trump perform the zany and embarrassing stunts for them so they can cheer him on without looking zany or embarrassed themselves?*
What about the rest of the Republican contestants who tremble in fear at the very mention of The Donald’s name and his absurd, “ever-changing” platform? You will find no answers here. Save it for your own entertainment.
If you want a rational evaluation of Donald Trump and his chances to be nominated look to The New York Times, Thursday, September 10, 2015 issue:
